Greenhouse demolition

Four bulldozers are currently demolishing greenhouses in Netser Khazani settlement to the south of Deir El-Balah.

Abu Houli Junction

Abu Houli Junction opened at 1410hrs in both directions.

It was open until Abu Mazen's procession passed and closed at 1450hrs.

IDF Remove OPs in Southern Settlements

The IDF have removed their OPs at Atsmona settlement. They have now started to remove another OP west of Morag settlement.

The work is progressing smoothly.

Tuffah checkpoint

The IDF has stated that Tuffah checkpoint will not reopen and all movement now will be through Tel es Sultan checkpoint at the southern point of Al Mawasi.

Revised Disengagement Timetable

Haaretz reports IDF Chief of Staff, Major General Dan Halutz as stating that the removal of settlers belongings and the demolition of homes will be completed by 3 September, with the IDF requiring up to a further two weeks to evacuate all its bases and personnel from Gaza.

The same report states that the IDF withdrawal from the Philidelphi corridor still awaits cabinet approval and may not take place until October.

Home demolitions

Haaretz reports that on Tuesday, the IDF and Defense Ministry demolished houses in Ganei Tal, Netzer Hazani, Rafiah Yam, Slav, Shirat Hayam, Morag and Bedolah. Additional homes are due to be demolished today in Nissanit and Gan Or.

Rafah buffer zone

At 6.00 am an explosion was reported in the Rafah buffer zone between Gaza and Egypt. It is believed to be in relation to an IDF search for tunnels in the area.

Abu Houli junction reopened at 10.25 pm on Tuesday and closed again at 5.15 am this morning.
