Home made rocket in northern Gaza

At 7.20 pm, a home made rocket was fired towards the green line from the Islamic cemetery to the east of Jabalia camp. It is believed the rocket did not reach the green line and landed in PA territory.

Explosive device near Karni

Haaretz is reporting that IDF sappers are currently defusing a 50 kg bomb found near Karni.

Erez closure

Erez has been closed from 6.45 pm on account of a suspect vehicle at the terminal. An IDF bomb squad is shortly due to arrive to assess the vehicle and on the basis of previous experience Erez may remain closed for between 1 and 3 hours.

Philidelphi deal approved

The Knesset has sanctioned the deployment of 750 Egyptian border guards along the Philidelphi route following the withdrawal of the last Israeli forces from Gaza. The decision was approved by the Cabinet last Sunday but required Knesset approval before it could take effect.

Tunnel search

At 4.15 pm two IDF tanks, one bulldozer and an excavator moved about 100 metres from the border line to the south east of Gaza international airport and started digging up the land apparently in search of tunnels.

Shooting from Zo'rob observation post

At 4.40 pm, the IDF observation post at Zo'rob opened fire towards the Block J area of Rafah camp. No injuries are reported.

Missile fired in northern Gaza

In the last hour an anti-tank missile was fired by Palestinian militants in the direction of IDF tanks and bull dozers to the north east of Beit Hanoun. The IDF responded with gun fire towards Beit Hanoun village. Palestinian security forces are now searching the area for those who carried out the attack. No injuries are reported.

Knesset to vote on Philidelphi

The Knesset is expected to approve later today, last Sunday's cabinet decision to allow for the deployment of 750 Egyptian border police along the Egyptian side of the Gaza Strip border.

Abu Houli Junction reopened at 10.15 pm on Tuesday and closed at 5.30 am today.

Explosions at Nisanit

At 9.50 pm on Tuesday, approximately five explosions were heard at Nisanit settlement. These explosions were related to the destruction of underground civilian bunkers in the former settlement.
