Rafah passenger terminal

In the continuing discussions over the movement of people and goods into Gaza from Egypt after the Israeli withdrawal, Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser Al Qidwa is reported by Haaretz as saying on Thursday that the PA may consider the continued Israeli inspection of goods entering Gaza, but this will not extend to people. Israel has rejected the proposal for the deployment of foreign observers as proposed by the PA and Egyptians.

Israel intends to start the construction of a new border crossing terminal at Kerem Shalom next week inspite of PA and Egyptian opposition.

Demonstrations

Another demonstration organised by Hamas has taken place in Khan Younis and appears to be designed as a show of strength. A number of gun men participated in the demonstration with occasional bursts of gun fire being heard.
